just in case. So here it is if you want to read pointless stuff from when the
website was just starting and on.
8/30/04
OMFG, it's
been way to long. I am in the process of getting my website
back up and running. Meaning the main website. This does not
include the AMV files. Why? I simply do not have the
bandwidth I had at college. I managed to find an awesome web
hosting service for the main website so I am going to at
least get started with that. No ETA on anything. I'll updare
as much as I can on all the other pages before I start with
the AMVs (Sorry).

Wow, almost a year ago since I last updated this and
about 3 or 4 months since the website went down. I am
dropping this on a yahoo hosting service I decided to get to
see what potential it might have for a permanent solution.
I'll try and be more on top of this as time goes on but I
hold a full time job now and I spend most of my extra time
working on my StarWars Galaxies character.

I finally got around to getting the revamped version
of the AMV section up. Everything seems to be working fine.
I also added a few new videos to the list. I still have a
bunch on my hard drive that need to be sorted, pictures
made, and info gathered for (many are from Otakon and other
well known videos). Sorry to be sort but I have to get back
to my class work I've been putting off.

The website has gone through some major changes
recently including IP address changes, hardware additions,
software upgrades, and other additions. Believe it or not,
all the changes (except for one annoyance) has been for the
better. The only current issue is that all the links to the
video files for the AnimeMusicVideos and the link the
AnimeMusicVideos.org are all incorrect. I hope to have this
all resolved when the MAJOR update for that section goes out
(date undetermined). As for now you can get the video files
by changing the link address to 129.21.144.6 instead of the
other IP it's pointing too. Also the website will be down
for a large portion of today for the major hardware changes.

I don't know where the time goes to but this college
year s over and I have to leave and make my drive home. The
server should be up all summer with two short down times
when RIT
refreshes all its IP addresses. I am so sorry I didn't get
the video updates before I am driving home, but I did all
the big file transfers so that when I get home all I have to
do is make the proper HTML updates (yes, I will be doing
updates during the summer). I have a full week of nothing
important to do so I very much see the update coming with
the next few days.

I know that I have not updated my website with
new videos in a long time. I just want to assure everyone
that I have not abandoned the website. I am extremely busy
with college class work. The main reason no new videos have
been posted is because along with some help I am working on
getting all the current videos and information into a
database so it's easily searchable. This is a long process
and is not expected to be finished to fast. With lucky it
will be done in about 2-3 weeks from now. From now till then
I'll still be collecting videos for the next update and
going through the other pages and updating them.
I also want to note that the website as gotten
a huge number of hits lately since
AnimeMusicVidoes.org has been having problems. And I am
trying to manage the website to deal with this increase of
traffic.

Finally got around to doing that video update I
wanted to do for a long time. Sorry it too so long, but I've
been trying to dedicate a lot of time to my class work (I
also finally got my PS2 back fixed from Sony and playing FFX
like crazy). Made some various updates around the website
pages also. Oh, and we also now have a
LIVE WEBCAM in the living room for everyone to pry into
our lives (you can usually catching us watching TV and
playing video games most of the time).

I'm back from Las Vegas and getting bad to doing
college work and making sure the website is always up to
date. I'll be adding a schedule of my classes so everyone
can know when I definitely will not be available. I do have
video that I have sitting waiting to be put on the website
but have much less free time this quarter so I'll get
to it when I can.

I made some minor updates
to the picture page and the links page and the video gaming
page. There are some things I'm sure everyone will want to
check out. I am leaving tomorrow for spring break to Las
Vegas and won't be back in front of the computer till the
10th. Server will be up and running while I'm gone with the
user limit on the files. I'll try and check the forums while
I'm away from college so post stuff there f you really need
to contact me.
Also .
This stops other people from downloading videos. Download
accelerators use up more than one connection and since I
only allow 10 you piss off everyone else very quickly
because most download accelerators use more than one
connection unless the option is specifically turned off (to
avoid accidents just don't use them.)

Thought you'd all like to see some stats for the website
(offline). Also
I have to say that I am not going to increase the user limit
for the files while on this college connection (I ran some
stats and in a matter of about 4 hours I transferred about
2gigs and that's plenty).

Made a video update finally. Added nine new videos.
The user limit is still on. I'll give the campus network
guys a call tomorrow and see what they would consider a good
amount to increase the user limit to. Also I plan on adding
new links to the table later today (in the a.m. now).

Today I finally finished Implementing the new way of
serving the AMV files every wants so much. The website is
now has no user limit. However, all the files have been
moved to a separate web server that I can limit, watch, and
maintain easily. The files will have a user limit and a
bandwidth limit that I will increase if I notice I can still
use more without using excessive bandwidth.

Sorry everyone for the downtime. Apparently the
bandwidth limiter was not functioning properly and I was
using way to much bandwidth. To solve this problem for the
short term I have reinstated the user limit. It is set to
10. I hope to change the way I host the files so that the
website will always be accessible with the limits only
applying to the files. Please bear with me as I make the
necessary changes.

Couldn't sleep so you all got an
AnimeMusicVideo Update early. I hope you all like the
changed pictures section and the new Frequently Asked
Questions (F.A.Q) page. I'll be added to those pages as I
can.
After this update I plan on putting
taking requests to host videos on hold for awhile. I want to
work on other parts of the website and start some other
projects. I'll still add videos but just on my own basis
when I come across some that I really like.

I managed to slip in the video update I said I would do on
the 20th but never got done. Also the EBay auctions are
over. I'd like to thank those of you that bid on the items.
Also I am working on making the pictures section more worth
while, like adding wallpapers and other stuff everyone would
like.

The other EBay auction is up for my
3D glasses for comp games. Go Bid on them so I can buy
stuff for the server. I will also do a video update before
the day is over, or maybe in the a.m. of tomorrow.

Alright, two of the auctions to help raise money to for
parts to make myself a separate workstation and and stuff
for the server are up. I'm selling my
External Zip Drive and
8 zip disks with a case in the other auction. The other
auction will be of some 3D/stereo vision glasses for the
computer so you can play games in 3D. Should be up soon. I
figure this is way better than asking for donations. Also
more videos to be added over the weekend as usual.

Thanks to some smart file moving I made some more space on
the server for more videos, so I'm accept requests again.
Still, file moving only gets me so far so watch the news for
on update for the eBay actions to raise money for more
hardware, software, and maybe domain name registration (hehe,
simperson.com, that would be so cool).

I added some new videos today, but that's not the main
reason for today's news.
I have some good news and
some bad news. Lets start of with the bad news. I
will not be accepting requests to host videos for awhile.
This is because I am starting to run low on hard drive
space; not because of anything else. The good news is I plan
to resolve this in the immediate future. I all pulling
together my b-day money and will also be selling some big
things I never use on ebay (I'll post links to that when
they are up so someone can buy them at a really high price
so I can by better parts for the server). I will probably be
adding videos still, just not fulfilling requests at this
time.
On another note, I'd like to
tell you all about some positive news I heard. A band has
actually officially recognized an AMV using their song.
Using the song Karma by
KAMELOT
to BASTARD!! footage; the AMV creater by
Rubyeye Pictures. Kamelot on
their website officially recognizes the video. A step in the
right direction.

Just made an update to the
video. Nine new videos added and there are nice tables in
the announcements to make it yet even easier to find the new
videos. I already got new videos from people to get yet even
more videos to you guys. Oh, and I have to mention this
video from a recent consumer electronic convention where
they show stuff about x-box online. IT'S THE FUNNIES THING
EVEN, even for none games I recommend you watch it. Here's

I finally did it. Thanks to
ProtocolSeven's help, I finally have a great professional
looking website. I'd love to get people's feedback on the
new look in the forums (to get back to the site in the forum
simply click on "Home" at the top in the forums section). Up
next for web design is figuring out a cool interface for
organizing the AMVs (any help would be good). I also have
some new AMVs to add in the near future.
Also on another note, I will be
building myself a new workstation very soon so that this can
become the dedicated server it needs to be; Which mean fewer
server restarts and better access and speed for all you
viewers. Till next time, Simperson out :)

Yes, I am back at college and
getting back to college class work and website work. A new
website layout will be added soon as soon as I get files
from
ProtocolSeven for the new design. I'll also be adding
some other things around the site along with the usual AMV

Well, I must leave now for home for the x-mas break. I did
a small video update and made sure the site is in order.
For those of you that upload videos to the ftp, it will be
down when I'm away to avoid any problems while I'm away.
I will be checking the forums and my email while I'm away

Thanks to yet another example of two companies screwing
each other over happened. Thanks to Microsoft and roxio,
the computer "lost" the cd drives. What surprised
me was that after looking for help on the web, that this
is a known problem with roxio easy cd-creator combined with
Windows 2000. Well, to give it to you short, this caused
several reboots recently and may cause a few more to resolve
this problem completely. If you want to read up on this

Made a small addition to the website, 3 new videos, and
1 new banner for my site. Thanks again to Anime Amiee for
making the banners. Also I just found out about the new
Spiderman movie trailer out there. In GameSpy's words "Wow,
This Movie May Not Suck." Download the trailer here.

Yet more updates have come your way. 6 new video have been
added. 4 from Goat Productions and 2 from Anime Rudeboy
Productions. Also I have added some AMV creator websites
to the links page. I'll be adding more as I get banners
for more sites. Also if you haven't noticed the Counter-Strike
page has turned into a general video gaming page. I am still
working on it so more info will be there as I get around
to it. There are some cool files and links there too. Have
fun surfing :)

I have made some major web design changes. It involves what
used to me the frame base Nav. Bar on the left. I have now
changed it so it is no longer a frame. The reason this was
done is so that people can link to AMV pages in the site
without the old problem of the Nav. Bar not showing up.

After yet another sleepless night I have managed to make
a major update to the website. Now all videos have a link
to their companion page on AMV.org . This will hopefully
make leaving feedback for the videos easy and provide easy
access to more information about a specific video. While
doing this update noticed that a number of people have been
doing what I don't Like, and that's linking directly to
videos.

Made a major update on the website for more anime music
videos. I finally got that batch of 12 videos done. Also
the new remastered version of Trigun - Eden from Otaku Productions
has been added. I have 4 more videos on the comp waiting
to be processed. Then I will begin the long and tedious
much requested project to added at link for every video
to it's place on AMV.org so people can leave reviews easily.
Only god knows when I'll finish that.

I am back at college early to get website stuff done. You guys are lucky I like
working on the website anyway and there was nothing much to do at home anyway. I
added 4 new videos already and made a link change for
Otaku Productions
new website. Next is a batch of 14 videos all from Sunshine Dragon Productions
that I have to get up. Also I will start an archive page for all this news. I
removed the user limit on the website because it was even beginning to annoy me.

I am going home for thanksgiving break now (lucky me). So no more website
changes till I get back. (unless need to do some remote repairing if
something happens). Sorry for those of you out there who gave me your videos to
put up and aren't yet. I'll get right back on it as soon as I get back. I'll be
checking on the site from home every now and then and checking the forum too.
User limit will be at 60 and bandwidth limit will be at 300kb/s. Have fun on the
site as always :) Oh and the FTP for uploads will be down for the break.

Well I finally got around to updating the website again with new videos. I
posted 11 new videos for you to check out. Also as asked my many people this
time I added a mark next to the new videos on the master list. I'd also like to
ask people to do a few things.
1- please don't use download accelerators on this site.
I have to limit the bandwidth to the site now because of
problem I got into with the college
internet people. and a there is also a maximum number of
connections limit. So if you do use
a download accelerator you jam up the website so others can't
get to it by using all the
bandwidth and using to many connections.
2- try not to have to download AMV's repeatedly.
This also increase un-necessary website traffic
3- Please download one AMV at a time.
Another way to save website traffic so others can get
AMV's and see the site.
** it is possible to use a dowload accelerator to resume download and save
downloads you want to make without causing problem. Simply set your program to
download one file at a time and tell it not to find other connections.
** Current Limited are max 300kb/s and 30 max users.

After accidentally finding the bandwidth usage limiter in win2k I finally put
back the AMV files. I still plan on moving the website to another machine but
that will be at a later time. Limiter is at 400kb/s which is still huge.
will leave another post if it needs to be restricted more.

Ok. I am sorry to say but the web-server will be going some major changes due to
bandwidth usage and Rochester Institute of Technology internet service
restrictions. As for now NO files are hosted to be sure too much bandwidth is
not used. Don't fear, the Files will come back after My roommate gets his great
Linux box back and then that will become the stand-alone server with some minor
changes (it will have a max bandwidth usage. Again don't worry the amount it was
using was not the problem, and you will still be able to get the AMVs like you
where). I know you hate not getting AMV but know that I want to get this
back-up as much as you want it.

I went ahead and thanks to my roommate I now have a forum that actually looks
like I know my stuff. It uses email for registration like the good ones and
looks nice with many features. Go ahead and test this one out

I worked some more magic and got another bunch of videos added to the site.
Otaku Productions uploaded me a bunch of videos (most of which are not available
at AMV.org). I now host a proud 100 Anime Music Videos. I have gotten some good
suggestions from people to help improve the site that think I'll work on
now since I am finally at an AMV dry point. These include minor design
changes and page additions (maybe).

I just added 13 new AMV to the site. There's no individual video to announce but
I have added a good number of the DDR (dance dance revolution) project videos to
the website. I have also finished the creators column to the master list to help
you locate a video by production company or studio. There are already 8 AMV to
be put up in the next batch. Have funny viewing al the great AMV. Oh Oh and I'd
like to thanks all the poeple out there helping this site. This includes both
AMV creators uploading me their AMV to be put on the site and people sending me
thank you emails for the site (it's a great boster to do work on the site). And
special thanks to Anime Amiee for creating a banner for people to use to link to
me on their websites (Available in the links page and on the pictures page).

I just updated the site with 6 new AMV. And as always there's still more to
come. I have also been getting work done on the links page and counter-strike
page. I am also working a a cool shockwave show of my living room here for page
5, it's looking great, soon to be finished.
- looks like I finished it today, take a look it's awesome. I also already got
some feedback for the site and it was recommended that I make a creator's column
on the master list for the AMVs, so it's in the works.

Just Finished a Mastive Website Update. 15 new AMV have been added and as
always plans are already in place to get more. Have funn getting all the great
AMV. The highlight of this addition is the "Right Now" video from doki doki
productions (in humorous section). It won first place for it's section as Otakon
this year.

Made an update to the site adding 9 more videos to the collection. The prize
among the new additions this time being "Failed Experiences in Video Editing" by
Elizabeth Kirkindall. This video was the BEST video winner of AWA7 (Anime
Weekend
Atlanta). Have fun getting all the new videos. :)

I have added about 4 new AMVs. The prize being the "Happy Boys and Girls" AMV
created by A.T. Chang. I was looking for this since the end of Otakon this year.
I recommend you download it. Aside from that I have some big tests this week so
not much will happen till Friday probably.

Apparently my site was infected my the Nimba worm and though I have now repaired
the infection and gotten the patches to prevent it again if YOU have been to my
site lately you may be infected too. Visit
Symantec (Norton) and
get the Fix to be sure your computer is not infected or if you run Norton
antivirus it will catch it too.

I
installed Apache and after 20 minutes of using it I started to hate it because
of it's raw form. I prefer the easy to use Windows2k server. So I formatted my
computer and installed Win2k advanced server and that's what it's goin' to be.
So FINALLY the site is at it's high point, many AMVs and no more user limited.

After
several hours in FrontPage I finally finished remodeling the AMV section. With
the new layout I can accommodate many more videos. I hope you all like it. Next
change will be the server base. It seems Apache will be it, then there will be
no more connection limit. Also more AMVs where added and there are still
more in the works to be added.

Starting
to come across some good problems. It seems I'm getting enough hits to max out
the maximum number or simultaneous connections (Win2k Professional limit) and
also because of the number of AMV on the one page it is beginning to take too
long to load. So over the coming weekend I plan on making some major changes to
the AMV section and change the type of web server (maybe to Apache or maybe
Win2k Server). Also I will be adding many more AMVs to the site over the
weekend.

I finally finished It.
Just about all the Anime Music Videos I have are on the web page. A few not
because they are just not net worthy or for reserved rights reason. Now that the AMV section is done, there are plans in the process to expand it already both in
hardware, software, and too increase the amount of AMVs. Keep checking back for
